Taye Currency: A House Built By God…Committed To Promoting Fuji Music

The recent brouhaha between Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma and Taye Akande Adebisi Currency is not the first one and will not be the last as long as Fuji exists; it is part of what makes Fuji a unique genre of music.

Rivalries among Fuji artistes are not new things, in fact it is as old as Fuji itself. And most of the time, the rivalry is occasioned by their diehard fans, because many of them could not stand it when someone speaks ill of their favourite musicians for whatever reason. As a matter of fact, lives have been lost, friendships have been broken as a result of this unhealthy rivalry.

Though there was never a time both had bad blood between them, they are maintaining their long-standing industry-brotherly relationship, until recent times when some fans choose to believe otherwise.

By virtue of their popularity and general acceptance and long-standing relationship that exist between both, that both were caught in the web of public rivalry is mostly expected, especially when it is time to set the record straight.

However, rivalry between both is not about superiority, it is just about putting things in their appropriate places.

Based on ‘jabs’ exchanged on social media by the diehard fans of Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma and Taye Akande Adebisi, there was never a time the former disputed that the latter is superior to him in the industry. Oftentimes, he makes it clear that Pasuma is his brother in the industry and he accords him deserved respect.

The fact remains that there is a limit to time or let me say that there is no one that can live under the shadow of his ‘boss’ forever, even the decision of whether an apprentice should stay with his boss or seek opportunity somewhere else calls for careful consideration.

To set the record straight, the relationship between Pasuma and Currency is not an apprentice-boss relationship, rather, it is an industry-brotherly relationship. Taye Currency sees Pasuma as one of his mentors, one of the persons that their pattern of music aligned, one he can associate with in the industry and importantly, one in which their act of performance resembles.

Taye Currency demonstrated this in his recently tendered apology to Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, where he acknowledged him as his boss. “Alhaji Alabi Pasuma is my boss; he sees us and knows I’m loyal to him. For it not to seem disrespectful, I apologise, Pasuma. You’re an elder, and I also greet Kollington Ayinla for the notice, Kwam1 for bringing our attention to the issue, and the President of Fuji in Nigeria, Alhaji SK Sensation.

“May you all live long. To Pasuma’s fans club, I’m sorry; Taye Currency fans, one love; and to all Fuji musicians, it will not spoil. Alhaji Alao, please don’t be angry.”

The move by Alhaji Taye Currency, such is expected from Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma in order to find lasting solution to the ongoing commotion, by addressing his fans, rather than fanning the embers of discord.

Fans often instigate rivalries among artists; Pasuma in his wisdom should not fall for their antics and traps because of the negative impact that goes along with it. Currency has extended his hands of friendship; they should be embraced by Pasuma to end the discord.

Taye Akande Adebisi Currency, the Apesin of Fuji music, has become a household name as far as Fuji music is concerned. He has paid his due in the industry having started his Fuji music career at the age of 17 years.

Apesin is a house built by God and no one can demolish it. The gentility of a lion does not mean its cowardness; Alhaji Taye Adebisi Currency is soaring high due to his resolute, unrelenting work ethic and his artistic prowess, which have endeared him to his growing fan-base home and abroad.

Taye Currency has demonstrated his love and respect he has for the fathers and elders in the industry, hence the decision to tender an apology, which was widely reported. Apesin said that his attention was called by Alhaji Kollinghton Ayinla, King Wasiu Ayinde and President of Fuji in Nigeria, SK Sensation, directed him to tender his apology to Pasuma, all in the name to ensure peace reign in the industry.

Apesin is beyond a name that will capitalize on an unwarranted issue to trend on social media or to remain relevant in the Fuji industry, if that is the focus they should count us out.

Taye Currency remains committed to the promotion of Fuji by ensuring that peace reigns now and always.
